Doncaster Sheffield Airport - EGCN (XP11 & XP12)

INTRODUCTION:

Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA).
We have recently updated this airport to feature full XP12 optimisation, as well as adding plenty of extra features to the airport, including dynamic weather and full 3D vegetation. 

The real airport was once a busy international airfield in the North of England, but sadly closed in 2022. Since then, it has remained a key location for multiple businesses, most notably 2Excel who maintain a base at the airfield (even if aircraft have been moved elsewhere). 

Fortunately, as of 2024, there are rumours of the site reopening to commercial traffic. With full amenities and a large runway pretty much ready to go – this may happen quickly! TUI have expressed interest in returning to the airport should it reopen, and perhaps other airlines will follow suit. We’ll certainly be keeping a look out for real world future plans and will update the airport accordingly. 

For now though, feel free to enjoy the airfield in the sim, replicated as it was before closure during 2022. For airline or GA traffic, it’s another realistic location with plenty of exciting details.
